Garage Songs Win Professional Cut and Polish

A batch of Intercooler songs recorded between jobs at the soon-to-be-legendary Easy Tape Studios have won a professional cut and shine.

The prize sees renowned producer Nick DiDia apply his world-famous finishing technique, using imported US elbow grease and extremely rare ear wax to bring the raw tracks up to showroom condition.

Intercooler singer Phil Ballantyne says the band couldn’t believe their luck. “Nick’s done an unbelievable job - used this stuff on heaps of songs you would have heard. We’ve actually had to dull track four down a bit. It was upsetting aircraft.”

Competition organisers have congratulated the band but warned them not to get ahead of themselves, citing “early signs of head swelling.”

Seismic Activity Slams Hinterland Public House

Seismologists are warning residents to brace for aftershocks after recording an earthquake at the Sunshine Coast's hottest rock’n’roll destination this month.

Dr Les Grumbles said the 7.8 magnitude event occurred at the exact moment Intercooler hit the stage at Mapleton Pub's Good Soil festival.

“Tremors continued for the hour set. But the 750 punters on the dance floor weren’t fazed. In fact, they seemed to love it!” he said.

Rock-loving Fruit Clinches World First Subscription

A rebellious passionfruit has become the first Intercooler Fan Club member and will receive the inaugural Coolerzine.

Ray (not his real name) says he was expected to love ballads like the rest of the passionfruit family, but discovered Intercooler blaring from a worksite during smoko last week.

“Everyone thinks we only care about deep emotions of the heart, but I can’t help it — Intercooler’s rock’n’roll rules. I’m addicted,” he said.

Old Dog Forced to Adopt New Groove

Intercooler are set to shock the world by proving an old drummer can learn new tricks.

Powderfinger drummer Jon Coghill has taken the stool after younger, faster and annoyingly better-looking Damon Cox took the throne with US indie giants Modest Mouse.

Reports suggest Coghill’s brain nearly exploded during his first Intercooler gig, but he’s recovering well on a strict diet of Tré Cool instructional videos and shattered self-esteem.
